Construction of the town houses utilises traditional methods with reinforced strip footings supporting load bearing masonry and timber floors. Where external patio areas have been formed at high level, extruded pre-cast concrete planks are used as flooring units.
The apartment buildings have steel superstructure supporting pre-cast concrete planks and are founded on a reinforced concrete transfer slab at first floor level over the undercroft parking areas.
The construction of the Village Centre was an earlier contract consisting of a shop, offices, restaurants and a pub, undertaken on behalf of Sovereign Harbour Limited as a design/build contract with Carillion Building.
The superstructure consists of insitu concrete columns and beams, supporting long span pre-stressed pre-cast floor units with traditional roof trusses supported on steel edge beam spanning between concrete columns. Elevations consist of mixture of fair-faced brickwork, glazing and curtain walling.
