St Edwards School
The expansion of St Edwards School in Poole involved the construction of a new Teaching Block, together with the refurbishment of the existing Classrooms and extensive remodelling of the external areas.
Extra Parking, Sports Facilities and Leisure Areas were created within the School’s grounds.
The geometry of the new building, together with height restrictions and thermal mass considerations, resulted in the choice of a reinforced concrete frame, supported on Pad Foundations. An economic structure incorporating flat-slabs, was optimised using finite element design software. Earth retaining structures around the site included Concrete, Masonry and Gabion Walls.
